Big Pink Bargain

I could not believe when my BF informed me on Friday night (more about that later) that the Soap and Glory BIG PINK set which I had had my eye on for ages had been reduced from £60 to £25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I LOVE BOOTS!!!!Better still on Saturday morning he went and picked one up for me before they all went, I now have lots of new products to play with and review!!!

It contains full size packages of the following:

  • Clean On Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel (500ml)
  • The Righteous Butter Body Butter (300ml)
  • Flake Away Body Scrub (300ml)
  • Girligo Scented Body Moisturising Mist (100ml)
  • Glad Hair Day Ultra-Shine Super-Shampoo (250ml)
  • The Breakfast Scrub Body Smoother (300ml)
  • Hand Food Hydrating Hand Cream (125ml)
  • Scrub Your Nose In It Face Scrub And Mask (125ml)
  • Super Colour Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in ‘Pink Apricot,’ (7ml)
  • Off Your Face Cleansing Wipes (25 wipes)
  • Giant Super Sudsy Shower Puff
The face wipes I already use so can review them first. :-D

Although quite expensive at the usual price of £4 for 25 face wipes they are really worth it. I am one of those girls that suffers from large pores and sensitive combined skin, the facewipes are great for both conditions. As they contain some magical big pore combatter after using the facewipes for a few weeks I have noticed that the pores on my nose (where it is truly awful) have shrunk quite considerably. I am also using the face wipes with S&G's pore shrinking moisturiser which is also helping. Regarding the combined and sensitive skin, the face wipes do not cause any irritation and I am left with smooth and refreshed skin post use. They also get rid of makeup well. All in all I give them an 8/10.

I will update about the weekend and my yummy treats tomorrow.

Chai Latte, 3 Years, long hours and a tired Alice

I have been having a rough couple of days at work due to silly, silly pettiness. Cannot wait for my Sunday ritual with the BF, which involves Bacon sarnies, fresh coffee and something for the weekend. On Sun we are going to wrap all the presents, make sure the cards are written and have everything organised.

My BFF is also coming over in the afternoon, for mince pies, mulled wine, Christmas carols , log fire and a big old catch up, very excited to see her and to plan our outfits for goo ( a really good indie club night-xmas goo is a tradition in our group of friends) Christmas eve, Christmas day and NYE!

Before that however I have two days of work and a yummy anniversary to look forward to. Tomorrow is mine and the Boyfriend's 3 year anniversary. Cannot believe we've been together 3 years, in some ways its gone really quickly and in others feels like we've been together forever. Makes me feel old.

Right, I need to paint my nails and go to bed (the bf is watching the cricket highlights or something boring)

Ladies that Lunch

Today, My BFF Rosie and I went and watched a pre school nativity play about the angels who saw baby Jesus being born, but everyone was too busy to come!!Was very cute and I especially enjoyed the angels song about making themselves look pretty. We went for a spot of lunch at the Black Rabbit afterwards (gorgeous food, drink and views (http://www.hall-woodhouse.co.uk/pubs/pubwalks/blackrabbit.asp).

We also went into Arundel town and of course did a bit of Christmas shopping. Can't say what I got on here but there were some good bits. Theres so many little vintage jewellery shops in Arundel that are so beautiful. Also a great charity shop which is often host to some treasures due to the rather ridiculous amount of affluence in Arundel.

Sparks yard is a great shop with loads of quirky cooking bits in, smellies, Cath Kidston type bits and cutie presents. We stopped for a coffee in there and just had to share this beautiful Christmassy cupcake (to be honest it was so pretty I didn't want to eat it, it looked so cute).

Its not letting me upload it at the moment so will have to post it in my next post!!! I have lawschool tomorrow and am dreading the commute up to Guildford, however least it's the last one untill January!!!!On the super exciting side I also am going to see the Blood Red Shoes tomorrow at the Brighton concorde!!!!! They are an amazing Brighton two piece, really great stuff, def recommend them

Sunday Night

So after spending a rather dull day doing sale prep at work I have decided to show pictures of my recent purchases to see what people think, I am a complete ASOS junkie and took advantage of the current advent calendar offers as well as getting the recently expired ASOS20 discount, I got this gorgeous fisherman cardi:
It's all warm and Christmassy!!!!
I also have purchased (also from ASOS) some really warm socks to wear under my boots:

I'm really looking forward to wearing them with my super old black topshop boots and with the boots I think I'm getting from Clarks, as I love them:
They're an absolutely gorgeous leather and really nice and long as well!!!My bf isnt that keen but meh!!

In other news I spent Friday night at the local Labour party Christmas meal, the food wasn't great but the company fabulous! Also won a decent bottle of wine which we enjoyed on the Saturday night!!!
Am nearly done Christmas shopping which I'm pleased with, just got a few more things here and there and done, hurray!!!
Am going to finish the rest of my lawschool work tomorrow so I can get on with my case note for interrights (a great legal charity)
http://www.interights.org/

Then spending Tuesday watching a preschool nativity (so cute) and having lunch with my bff Rosie (see above)

The cherry picker

So I've never blogged before and didn't really have any intention of doing so, but recently having sought fashion and beauty tips from blogs I've resolved to give one a go. Well My name is Alice, I'm 22 and attempting to become a solicitor, hence the blog name. I love pink and sparkly things and have recently developed an obsession with different coloured nails. My beauty obsessions are: Soap and Glory (anything), Model's Own nail varnish (though am starting to expand into other make up items- if anyone uses them please let me know how they are!!) and Bourjois!!!!!!

Fashion, I am your typical high-street girl. At 5" 10 I do find it hard to get well fitting clothes and often have to get bigger sizes :-( to get a better fit. I tend to shop at Topshop and Newlook (9/10 in the tall ranges) and at ASOS. I also have a few vintage pieces, including my yummy arran cardi that my Grandma knitted my Mum in the 70's!!Working in Clarks means that I am a bit of a Clarks girl, recently theres been loads of coverage of Clarks in Grazia, Vogue and various newspapers. I know it sounds unlikely but there are some really nice bits in there and not too ridiculous in price (if you can get them in the sale even better!!)

Well theres a bit about me, I'm off to have a bath and snuggle up with mulled wine and ugly betty, yum!!
